Roseville’s Summer Savior

If you've driven through Roseville on Interstate 80, chances are you looked at the mishmash of brightly colored objects surrounding a medieval castle and thought, "That looks like a fun place!" And you'd be correct.

A summer for the typical Roseville family (at least those with kids under 18) wouldn't be complete without at least one visit to our community's most prized summertime possession: Golfland Sunsplash – specifically, the Sunsplash part!

When the mercury tops 100, even those who most dread large crowds and the loud sounds of screaming kids and lifeguard whistles will consider them to be but minor inconveniences given the chance to whoosh down a fiberglass tube and plop into a nice refreshing, crystal blue pool. For those who crave a little excitement with their pool time, Sunsplash has you covered. From its newest attraction "Double Down" (which is essentially a trapdoor-in-the-floor drop almost vertically to a gradually-sloping slide) to the iconic "Thunder Bay" wave pool, Sunsplash has a good amount of wet-and-wild fun to be had.

A single day visit to the park costs $29 for those over 48-inches tall and $23 for those under 48-inches. With 13 water attractions in all and ample sunning environments, this park will have you wanting to come back for more. So, good thing they offer what is still a respectable deal on season passes: $90 for first time pass purchasers, with a $20 discount for renewals.

But Sunsplash is only half the fun of this local gem located at the corner of Taylor Road and Roseville Parkway. The Golfland section offers two entertaining 18-hole miniature golf courses, complete with fun obstacles and goofy structures. This part of the park is also where you'll find the expansive King Ben's Castle video game arcade and a Knight-themed laser tag arena. And if mini-golf and waterslides weren't enough to keep you entertained, Golfland features an opportunity to take a few laps around their winding Fastcar Racetrack in a go-cart.

In total, Golfland Sunsplash can probably claim it has created more happy family memories than any other single Roseville establishment. A seasonal calendar with waterpark open dates and times can be found at Golfland.com/Roseville.
