Fine Arts Alive and Well in Roseville

No blossoming city is complete without a thriving artistic community. And thanks to Roseville's Blue Line Arts gallery, area residents can experience fine art and all of its accompanying culture close to home.

Established in 1969 to provide a quality venue where South Placer County artists could exhibit their work alongside collections from other artists around the country, Blue Line's exhibit space is intimate but expansive enough to host small musical performances, lectures, parties and demonstrations. In addition to its rotating collections, Blue Line also features on its website more than 120 profiles of Blue Line member artists. From painters, sculptors and photographers to artists who work in ceramics, digital mixed-media and more, each profile includes an artist's statement and examples of the artist's work – many of the featured pieces are available for sale.

At Blue Line, the art is not just for looking. The gallery also offers a number of programs and workshops to broaden your artistic curiosity and talents. For adults, Blue Line recently kicked off a series of workshops specifically designed for professional artists in the area to grow their knowledge and experience to further their creative careers. The gallery's reputation also brings in notable visiting artists who host popular workshops. For kids, Blue Line offers a summer camp, homeschool art programs, and the monthly-themed "Super Sunday Art Academy."

In addition to Blue Line's popularity during Roseville's "Downtown Tuesday Nights," the venue hosts an eclectic line-up of musical acts. So, check out the events calendar on Blue Line's website or stop by for an impromptu art fix visit. Blue Line is located at 405 Vernon Street, Suite 100.
